Agate chapter has recently returned from the Frank Marshall Ritual Competition in Texas and do we have reason to be proud.
In their first effort in this competition, Agate Chapter placed second in the DeMolay Degree, Championship Level competition behind the four time defending champion Reagan Chapter. They also placed second in Chapter proficiency; open level. This is a fantastic showing from a group of DeMolays who will continue to improve the brotherhood in their chapter through a top-notch ritual program.
But this is not the only good news. Southwest Pacific District President Joe Valenzuela (also from Agate Chapter) placed first in the Best Chaplain competition. Brother Valenzuela also placed second in Ceremony of Light, Orator, and Installing Officer. Brother Mike Galyean placed 2nd for Master Inquisitor and 3rd place for Chapter Proficiency Master Councilor. Once again showing that quality ritual in SCJ DeMolay is alive and well.
The members of Agate Chapter have every reason to be proud of themselves and of course we are truly proud of them and the way they represented our jurisdiction at this event.
In the not too distant past, SCJ was a highly regarded competitor on the national ritual stage and thanks to these hard working DeMolays and advisors, we have been given a great jumpstart to that happening again. We have begun the process of reclaiming our rightful place as one of the finest and ritually proficient jurisdictions in all of DeMolay International. The transformation is not complete but we have one more chapter that is making great strides to put us back on the map. Hopefully, other chapters will follow their fine example and travel with them down that road to accomplishment and success. Thank you for representing us so well and for making us proud.
Congratulations!!! |
